A highly specialized expo for a great business: MIA is Europe’s most important and comprehensive expo event for the eating out trade, a sector that in Italy has exceeded a turnover of 60 billion euros, a sum that is a third of the country’s food and beverage sales, and is a 4.9% rise on the previous year’s figures.
The expo event’s success: its original formula aims at highlighting everything connected with food and beverage produce – from service methods to logistics and consumption and trend analysis. Not just products: but also a series of spectacular events dedicated to quality gourmet produce, featuring internationally famous chefs.
...and large-scale distribution
Interesting new inroads on the large-scale distribution channel have further widened the event’s target.
A Nomisma survey presented at the last edition of MIA highlighted the fact that snacks and ready-to-eat or oven-ready dishes purchased in supermarkets could become an interesting alternative for lunch breaks and a great business opportunity for manufacturers and producers.
The program of the 1st Large-scale Distribution Buyer Day will host round tables, analyses of market surveys and business meetings between buyers and exhibiting firms.
